What we do
We are a local Children’s Charity promoting the Rights of Children and Young People to “PLAY”. We run “Chill Out Zones” 50 weeks of the year and Holiday Playschemes.
AIMS OF YORK PLAYSPACE
Our aims are to provide and promote quality play opportunities for Children and Young People aged 0 – 18 years in and around York. Our constitution allows us to:-- Provide Children's play facilities
- Encourage and support other Children’s groups
- Work together in Partnership with other like-minded groups
- Promote awareness of the importance of Play
- Seek to increase the funding devoted to Children’s play
- Provide and encourage the sharing of resources and equipment for Play
- Provide and promote training for Playworkers
- Support and promote networks in the field of Play
- Affiliate to organisations with similar aims and objectives
- Holiday Playschemes, both centre-based and mobile
- Provision of Chill Out Zones
- Development of Play in local Communities
- Play resources and equipment hire service
- Information and advice on Play provision
- Promotion of Playwork training
- Support and joint action with other local Play projects
- Active support of regional, national and international play organisations
- Development and promotion of Playwork volunteering.
