Chinese New Year celebrations at Chill Outs
Tue 17th Jan 12This week at Chillouts we are celebrating the up and coming event of Chinese New Year. On Monday 16th January at Moor Lane Chillout the children made their own spring rolls using water chestnuts, bean sprouts, vegetables and filo pastry, together with a stir fry with noodles, rice and sauces. They had a great time with other chinese activities and made a junk model dragon. Chinese New Year will also be celebrated at the Tang Hall and 68 Centre Chillouts this week, with Chinese food and Chinese related activities.
Mr Hoggle Doggle donate more toys and games
Mon 16th Jan 12Mr Hoggle Doggle have once again very kindly donated another large amount of toys and games to York Playspace. These were very gratefully received and will be put to good use at either our Chillout Zones or on our mobile playschemes.
Chillout Zones now open as usual
Mon 16th Jan 12All the Chillout Zones are now open as usual, Moor Lane on Mondays, Tang Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 68 Centre on Wednesdays. We welcome back all our regular attendees, and also any new faces who have come to visit Chillouts for the first time. Please watch this space for details of forthcoming events and activities at Chillouts over the next few weeks.
Co-Op Travel donate toys to York Playspace
Tue 20th Dec 11Co-Op Travel Agents based in Morrisons, Foss Islands Road, York, have recently organised a collection for donations of toys to York Playspace and a large amount of toys have been delivered to us. We are very grateful and wish to thank everyone for supporting us, the toys will be put to good use either within our Chillout Zones or on our other play projects.
York Playspace Annual General Meeting
Mon 21st Nov 11This year's Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 16th November 2011 at 68 Centre Chillout Zone, Barfield Road. The Trustees of York Playspace were present, along with employees and volunteers. The Meeting was also attended by five of the children who came to the Chillout that evening, their comments made a valuable contribution to the meeting and they behaved in a mature and sensible way.
